Democratic Delegate Dilemma

“America belongs to ‘We the People.’ It does not belong to Congress. It does not belong to special interest groups. It does not belong to the courts. It belongs to ‘We the People’…” Words from Founding Father John Jay ring true today as well as in the past. With the forthcoming Democrat convention in Chicago the delegates there to are faced with the decision from quarters unknown that Kamala Harris is to be their nominee for president without consideration a representation of the millions of democratic voters who have cast their valuable ballot for Joseph Biden as president and Camilla Harris as vice president. Should the convention choose to follow this path allowing the nomination of Kamala Harris as president without discussion of alternative candidates flies in the face of long-standing principle of the voice of the “We the People” exercised through their representation. In this instance “We the People” have had no opportunity to voice their opinion considering the decision “on high” that appoints Kamala Harris as Democrat nominee for presidency in this crucial 2024 election. Let us not forget that in her first bid for that office in 2020, her support dissolved about sixty days before the lowa primary.

In fact, the delegates to the Democratic convention can fully explore other candidates who may have equal or superior qualifications to lead this nation. From the start the convention is in the hands of the delegates and they alone have the power to nominate candidates, discuss their qualifications and determine who among them is best suited to serve in this high office. That the presidential nomination has been usurped by powerful forces within the party leads us to query, just who are these kingmakers launching a Presidential campaign prior to delegate deliberation. Just who pulls the strings of this puppet act and to what degree will they control the puppet after the election? Fundamental questions to which “We the People” deserve satisfactory answers.

As voters in the November 5th presidential election pitting Democrat and republican candidates against each other, we at ivotemyvote.com feel that it is imperative that the delegates alone, from each of their parties, should exercise the power to determine their nominee for presidency. We recognize that funds for the Biden Harris ticket may not be available to any other candidate, however that monetary impediment should not prevail in the determination of the absolute best candidate to serve this nation. We urge an open convention that would consider other nominees but since the Harris campaign is well underway, the convention is no more than a royal seal of approval of a decree already in place. We urge the forthcoming Democratic convention to heed the voice of “We the People” in their deliberations
